[rufus wainwright - poses]
all these poses of classical torture
ruined my mind like a snake in the orchard
i did go from wanting to be someone
now i’m drunk and wearing flip flops on fifth avenue
once you’ve fallen from classical virtue
won’t have a soul for to wake up and hold you

[rufus wainwright - chelsea hotel no. 2 (leonard cohen cover)]
I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel
you were famous, your heart was a legend.
You told me again you preferred handsome men
but for me you would make an exception.
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
you fixed yourself, you said, “Well never mind,
we are ugly but we have the music.”
The One You Love by Rufus Wainwright

Baby I know that you’re too sad to cry
But my little darling guess what? So am I
Still I believe we ought to shed a tear
The open hearted have no thing to fear
But I don’t even think you hear me at all
Under your medieval ceiling behind your biblical wall
Guess I’ll have to put my trumpet back in the case
And get behind this here canon covered in lace
rufus wainwright - out of the game
I’m going to a town that has already been burnt down…
Rufus, Martha and Loudon Wainwright & Lucy Wainwright Roche, “One Man Guy” (21st July 2011)
fuckkkk, I had no idea this was happening.
I was supposed to be there for this, but instead I was home sick. Damn you body, damn you so fucking much.
(I also missed the Rufus Does Judy! performance last night, which was his birthday, too. At least I seem to finally be well enough to attend the grand finale tonight. Small victories.)
